Keywords
Get the results you're looking for!
Keywords can narrow your search results, helping you to find the right job the first time.
Keywords can be particularly useful if you are searching for a role that requires specific
experience.
For example, when searching for a 'Sales' role, you may be looking for a position that requires
management experience.
One word
Searching for a keyword of management would list all positions that include this
word.
More than one word
Searching for the keywords management analyst would list all the positions that
include the words management AND analyst. These words would not necessarily appear together in the
ad details.
Phrase searches
Use quotes to search for an exact phrase associated with the role. For example
"management analyst" or "database analyst" would only return
results with this exact phrase.
Excluding words
Use not to exclude keywords. A search of analyst not management
would list positions that include the word 'analyst', but not if they also include the word
'management'.
Optional words
Use or to list jobs including either word. A search for analyst or management would list positions that include either word or both words.
Nested search
To provide the most accurate results, SEEK supports nested searches using brackets.
For example analyst not (management or database). Search results will return
jobs that include the word 'analyst' but none that also include the words 'management' or 'database'.
Capitalisation
SEEK searches are not case sensitive. All letters, regardless of how you type them,
will be understood as lower case. For example, searches for Management Analyst , management analyst or MaNAgement AnALyst will all return the same results.
Automatic exclusion of common words
SEEK ignores common words and characters such as 'location' and 'description,'
symbols such '%' and '/' and numbers. These tend to slow down your search without improving the
results.
